Called out to a lovely manor house to sort there moles out, one of my favourite jobs.
If you have moles digging up your grass give me a call..
Just a up date, i caught a total of 8 moles so far from the garden, my go to trap is the duffus i just love this trap and the fact that you have to 2 catch ability also the trap sits below ground level so makes them less visable to people. (Moles are hanged like this so owner can see how things are going).

Ricky just flew awsome again on this lovely day, went up high and scared the crap out of every gull on site, putting some lovely stoops at them. Its not all about killing stuff.
Bird control this morning, is Daventry with my male harris hawk, i got called out over a year ago to move some loafing gulls off a factory roof as they was cause a large amount of damage through peaking the roof, now you are lucky to see any so visits have gone to weekley and custmor wants to keep the program on going just to make sure they dont think about coming back.
Thats why i love this work you just dont know what you are going to come across. While carrying our pest control i came across these wood crickets.
My falcon Ricky flew well in the wind scaring the gulls off, hes turning out to be a good bird learning his job well, on the other hand kia my usually good falcon decided to bugger off site totally ignoring me thank god foe telemetry i found her about 5mile off site before finally getting her back. The joys of working with animals.
As the insect quiten down for me this time of year the pest bird activity picks up mainly landfill work. I currently have 3 falcons out flying and a harris hawk to train up ready for the urban work.
The landfill might sound a grim place but the about of wildlife you see, everything from peregrine, kestrels, buzzards, redkites roe deer etc even seen a hobby a few times. But getting back to the work the gulls tend to more back in land over with coller months and they hit every food source they can i.e landfill sites. The one im currently working can have up to 500 gulls and corvid some days and the main aim of the falcons is to keep them at bay while the site is open. The idea is to scare the birds off by flying the falcon but sometimes they will take the odd bird after all its only nature.
My birds im flying at the moment:
(picture is of my young imprint gyr x saker falcon) She is only a young bird hatched this year currently i just let her do her thing on site, love watching her playing in the wind and chasing the crows around.
Then my male peregrine x saker he does love to chase the gulls around.
Next a female gyr x peregrine X gyr x saker she is a bit of a expert in moving the birds off site and will more than happly take a crow or two down if they dont move.
Then Max he is a 5 year old male harris hawk i recently got him off a friend and is nearly ready to got free.
